About

Builderbeast Art + Design Build, is a team of artists and designers who build. We love what we do and our mission is to do more than just build.

Artistic, thoughtful and unique: we craft meaningful spaces and design structures that reflect your vision. Whether it’s a tree house or a new house, we refine details and work with mindfulness. Our practice also includes a dynamic and collaborative work environment and the occasional morning of tai-chi.

We maintain a full service design lab, gallery, and office  in the IX Art Park, downtown Charlottesville. Come visit us!

Justin Poe | Sculptor + Carpenter

Florida born, Justin studied set design and sculpture at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, after which he worked as a studio and installation artist, joining Builderbeast in 2014. Justin finds inspiration in philosophy, minimalism, and discovering tiny bits of nature.

Rutherford “Rudd” Moore | Artist + Carpenter.

Rudd grew up in Mechanicsville Virginia, just outside of Richmond. Art has guided him through most of his life: The energy, process, and critical thinking of painting and drawing are my passion while mastering carpentry is his goal. “Abstract art is what draws me closest to understanding how two figures meet. The complexities of nature keep me thinking how great something can be.” His favorite sports are surfing, snowboarding, and skateboarding; which all blend artistry, balance, and presence.
